Step 1: Connect the Antenna
When you get the camera out of the box, the first step is to connect the antenna. Simply screw it in, and you’re good to go. Don’t forget to remove the protective film from the camera lens.
Step 2: Power the Camera
Next, you’ll need to connect the camera to a 12-volt power source. If you want the camera to be on all the time, connect it to a constant power source such as a running light. If you want it on only when you reverse, connect it to the reverse light. For this demonstration, I already have a power setup, so I’ll just plug it in.
Step 3: Download the App
Once the camera is powered on, it will create its own Wi-Fi network. Now, you’ll need to download the SWD app on your iPad or iPhone. Search for “SWD camera” in the App Store and install it.
Step 4: Connect to the Camera’s Wi-Fi Network
Open the app, then go to your device’s Wi-Fi settings and look for the network created by the camera. It should be named “SWD”. Select it; no password is required.
Step 5: View the Camera Feed
Once connected to the Wi-Fi network, open the SWD app, and you’ll see the camera feed. You can also activate and deactivate gridlines within the app.
And that’s all there is to it! You’ve successfully set up your iPhone RV backup camera.
